Voice Plates is built to collect as little as possible. Reading about mental health is private business, and the site has no reason to know who is reading.

No trackers

The site sets no cookies, runs no analytics, loads no advertising or social media widgets and has no accounts, stored forms or newsletter. The pages do not try to identify visitors or follow them from page to page.

Fonts and hosting

Two things involve outside companies. The typefaces are loaded from Google Fonts, so a visitor's browser asks Google's servers for font files, and Google receives the technical information any web request carries, such as an IP address. The site is also served from a content delivery network, which, like any web host, keeps routine technical logs. This site does not see or use those logs. Readers who want to avoid the font request can block it, and the pages fall back to standard fonts.

Source links lead to the websites of the agencies, journals and institutions cited. Those sites have their own privacy practices, which this site does not control.

Email

The contact form simply opens a visitor's own email program with a prepared message. Nothing is submitted to this website. A message sent to the editors is read, used for corrections and kept only as long as needed for that purpose.

Changes

If this policy changes, the page is updated and the date at the foot of the site changes with it.
